Snow fell in the highlands. Despite autumn, the conditions are completely wintry. Before the tour downhill, check the equipment and put new batteries in the avalanche woodpeckers. Keep in mind that the day is shorter and adjust the tour accordingly.
Don’t go to the mountains in winter without the perfect winter equipment. You urgently need: ice ax, crampons, as well as the avalanche trio: avalanche pick, shovel and probe. You also need to know how to use the equipment. For anyone who is not skilled in using winter equipment, we recommend hiring a mountain guide.
